| Job Summary: |
Cepheid is in search of a Legal Administrative Assistant professional to organize and support our General Counsel, VP of Intellectual Property, VP of Business Development, SVP Regulatory Affairs, SVP Human Resources and other members of the legal and executive team.

| Responsibilities: |
- Provides administrative support to the General Counsel, VP of Intellectual Property, VP of Business Development, SVP Regulatory Affairs, SVP Human Resources and other members of the legal and executive team
- Arrange travel for General Counsel; SVP Regulatory Affairs; SVP Human Resources; VP Intellectual Property; VP Business Development; create travel itineraries for travelers
- Prepare and track expense reports for General Counsel; SVP Regulatory Affairs; SVP Human Resources; VP Intellectual Property; VP Bus Dev
- Assists VP of Intellectual Property with research and data compilation from government and general patent databases
- Planning, directing and coordinating a variety of administrative meetings and functions including Board meeting preparation
- Support General Counsel with corporate compliance responsibilities, i.e., monitor and process stock trading forms
- Exercise independent judgment with little or no supervision while performing assigned tasks.
- Copy, draft and edit legal correspondence, forms, and contracts.
- Organize and maintain legal files and legal file system, prioritize mail and messages
- Handle highly confidential and sensitive company information.
- Provide back-up for Executive Assistants to the CEO, CFO and COO
- Assist other members of the legal team with various tasks

| Required Knowledge - Skills - and Abilities: |
• Bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience (w/paralegal certificate preferred). • Minimum of 4+ years experience in law firm and/or in-house legal department • Strong verbal and written communications skills are essential, as is a proactive attitude, analytical disposition, attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. • Candidate should have excellent word processing skills, and a good working knowledge of MS Office. • Experience with databases • Experience with an automated docketing system and/or litigation software preferred.
